hunting in the woods you found me there

sparked me with your arrow and snatched me to your lair

carried me to your forested dreams and built a hearth of fire

19 fairies danced around, their painted bodies, naked bare

they called us to join our hands and dance below moon’s tower

i dance here still after all these years

i count 19 our giant love endures

and in the twilight of spring and sun

i feel blessed by the rainbow we have spun

and on april fools i remember quick the day i spent when i let you kidnap me

to paint a forest magic with eyes for clouds and smiles upon the leaves

so today i mix the color of laughing fairie tears

and paint a puck’s poem for her king:

happy anniversary, my love, my hero of nineteen years.
