thin skin
stained but clean
reminds me of you

your linen arms, face
freckled
fragile but sturdy

tea towel, part of my kitchen
my heart
my potholder, beloved rag

friend at my side
during the hard parts
the spills, the burns
soaking up the hurts

perfect in your blemishes
resilient
linen towel, far from white
i love you so
